Statement

Statement of Faith

Potter’s House Church – Wellingborough

Potter’s House Church is made up of people who have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour and have chosen to come together to serve God in unity, guided by the doctrines and beliefs of the church.

General Statement of Belief

We believe in one true and living God, revealed as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three are one God, the same God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, fully revealed through the person of Jesus Christ.

We believe that:

  • Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God and the only Saviour of the world from sin.

  • Jesus Christ died once for all, rose again bodily, and will one day return for His church.

  • Jesus Christ is the Great Physician and healer through the atoning power of His blood.

  • Jesus Christ baptises believers with the Holy Spirit, just as on the Day of Pentecost.

  • Jesus Christ is the soon-coming King and the only hope for a dying world.

  • Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

The Work of the Holy Spirit

We believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit experienced by the disciples and apostles are still active in the church today. Believers are baptised by full immersion in water, in obedience to Scripture.

Our Mission

Our commission is to go into all the world, preach the gospel, and make disciples of all people.

We believe salvation is by grace through faith alone. There is nothing more that can be added to what Christ has already done.

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”
— Mark 16:15

Authority of Scripture

We believe the Bible is the final authority in all matters of faith and life. Nothing should be added to it or taken away from it.
